Bus, ferry or transfer?

The SITA bus is the cheapest way. From Sorrento to Positano it takes 35 to 60 minutes, usually about 50, and a single ticket costs €2.40; to Amalfi it takes 75 to 100 minutes, with a €3.40 ticket. The 24 hour COSTIERASITA pass costs €10 and covers unlimited SITA rides in the towns of the coast (SITA Sud and Unico Campania, autumn 2026 timetable).

From April to October ferries also sail from Sorrento to Positano: NLG in about 35 minutes for €21.50 and Alilauro for €19, one way for an adult. NLG continues to Amalfi, about 1 hour 10 minutes from Sorrento, for €24.50.

In Positano the bus stops on the coast road above the village and the ferry lands at the beach. A private transfer picks you up at your address in Sorrento and drives you to your hotel, with the luggage in the car and one price per vehicle for the whole group.

How the price works

The prices in the table are the operators' list prices for a sedan and a minivan, per vehicle and not per person. Pickups between 20:00 and 08:00 carry a 20% night supplement.

You can book online at the list price when the transfer is more than 14 days away. Closer to the date, write on WhatsApp: the price then comes from the offers of the operators who cover the route.

Cancellation is free up to 7 days before pickup. Between 7 days and 72 hours before, the deposit is kept; within 72 hours, or if nobody shows up, the full price is due.
