FAQ

Common questions about this tour

How much does the PADI Open Water Diver course cost?

The PADI Open Water Diver course costs €650 per person. This includes PADI eLearning access and materials, all diving equipment for 4 days, classroom sessions, five confined-water skills sessions, four open-water certification dives, and your PADI Open Water Diver certification card.

What certification do I earn and is it valid worldwide?

You earn the PADI Open Water Diver certification — the world's most recognized scuba diving license. It qualifies you to dive independently to 18 meters (60 feet) at any dive site worldwide, with a buddy. The certification is valid for life and recognized at every dive center on the planet.

What's the 4-day schedule?

Day 1: Classroom theory, eLearning review, and initial confined-water skills. Day 2: Additional confined-water practice and skills mastery. Day 3: First two open-water certification dives. Day 4: Final two open-water dives and certification assessment. All sessions start at 08:00.

Do I need any prior experience?

No prior diving experience is required. The course takes you from zero to certified diver over four days. You need to be able to swim 200 meters and float for 10 minutes, be at least 10 years old, and be in good health. A medical clearance may be required.

How is this different from the Scuba Diver course?

The Open Water Diver course (4 days, €650) certifies you to dive independently to 18m — anywhere in the world, without professional supervision. The Scuba Diver course (3 days, €480) limits you to 12m under supervision. If you're serious about diving, the Open Water course is the better long-term investment.

What skills will I learn?

You'll master buoyancy control, underwater navigation, emergency procedures, equipment handling, dive planning, and buddy communication. These are the essential skills for safe, independent diving that you'll use throughout your diving career.

How small are the class sizes?

Maximum 4 students per PADI instructor. This is smaller than most dive schools worldwide and ensures thorough, personalized instruction. The instructors at Punta Campanella Diving are multilingual and have trained over 200 students per year with a 99.8% satisfaction rating.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the course start date. Between 3–7 days before, a 50% refund is available. No refund within 72 hours of the start date. Weather-related rescheduling is handled at no extra cost.
